Detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Onyendu is to appear before Justice Binta Nyako of a Federal High Court in Abuja on the 18th January, 2022.

He implores his supporters to be civil, exercise restraint in speech, shun violence and be of good conduct in his court appearance on Tuesday.

According to his lawyer, Ifeayin Ejiofor who made this known in a statement he issued on Friday morning after his customary visit to Kanu yesterday, at the Department of State Services(DSS) Headquarters.

He stated that, Kanu is assured of victory and in high spirit as he is readily prepared for the legal battle that would resume on the turf of the Federal High Court, Abuja Judicial Division, starting from next week Tuesday and on subsequent adjourned dates, if any.

In addition, he stated that the product individual reflections on the most potent legal strategies have been coalesced, to be adopted, fine-tuned and harmonized, in a bid to refine them into a single, conclusive, potent and workable formula.

According to Ejiofor, the customary visit essentially reassured and strengthened Kanu’s determination to persevere relentlessly.
He said, “I declare to you, Umuchineke, that Onyendu is fully prepared to appear in court as from January 18 2022. He is rooting for victory and knows that, with the help of Chukwuokike Abiama, victory is assured.”

He assures Biafrans of using the developed fascinating dimension from the harmonized workable formula to humble and put Kanu’s detractors to perpetual shame.

He also noted that, the detained IPOB leader has utilized the opportunity provided by the customary visit, to laud his inexhaustible number of supporters and followers who would be appearing in court to once again, demonstrate their unflinching dogged support and loyalty; to be of good conduct, be civil, comported, shun violence and deviant behaviors in any manner or form, and of course, maintain decorum in exercising restraint in speech.

He declared that, formal correspondences have been created to discharge responsible, sovereign, democratic governments and other international institutions in a bid to prevail over the Nigerian Government; The correspondences are said to be receiving the requisite attention they deserve which has made them optimistic of a positive transformation in the conduct and general approach of overzealous security agents at Kanu’s next appearance in Court.

He reiterates that, the detained IPOB leader has not committed any offence known to law and for that reason, he must be released unconditionally.

However, there has been no official disclosure about where and how Kanu was arrested by INTERPOL on June 27, 2021 in Kenya, the family and lawyers of the detained IPOB leader, have narrated how Kanu was taken into custody in Kenya under controversial circumstances and deported to Nigeria where he is currently facing trial before Justice Binta Nyako of a Federal High Court in Abuja over terrorism charges.

“We specially appeal to you, Umuchineke, to demonstrate profound understanding and fortitude in these trying times. You must remain focused, dogged, and resilient. On no account must your untiring spirit be shaken and your resolve diluted.

“You must keep the peace at all times and comport yourselves with decorum. In no too distant time, you will surely savor the sweetness of victory. Celebration and merriment will resound in your respective dwellings and sorrow and sighing shall take a permanent and unremitting flight to the abyss.

“Onyendu expresses his profound gratitude and appreciation to millions of his followers and supporters scattered throughout the face of the earth. He declares to them never to lose hope but to hold steadfastly to that one thing that is dear to them. He promises them that with the help of Chukwuokike Abiama the present distraction would soon pass and that victory and celebration would be their lot.” Said Ejiofor.
