Condolence messages have continued to pour in for the Late Prof. Habu Galadima, Director General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, He was said to have died following a brief illness in the early hours of yesterday. The news of his death was contained in a short statement by the Secretary and Director of Administration of the Institute, General C. F.J. Udaya.
In his condolence message following the news of his death, President Muhammadu Buhari expressed sadness over the death of the late NIPSS DG.
A statement issued in Abuja by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity) described the late DG as an intellectual colossus who stood tall in the field of scholarship and knowledge.
“Galadima was an eloquent and remarkable intellectual whose contributions to scholarship were vast and remarkable, and Nigeria will continue to remember him for these contributions,” the President said while commiserating with his family, friends, the government and people of Nasarawa State.

Also in his message, Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong said Galadima’s death was not only shocking, but was also a great loss to his family, NIPSS, the Nigerian academic community, Plateau and Nasarawa States, and the country at large.
While mourning Galadima, Lalong highlighted some of his achievements as well as his standing in society. The governor described Galadima as an ingenious scholar of international repute. He further described him as a professional administrator who demonstrated uncommon commitment in executing every responsibility assigned to him:
“Since assuming office over one year ago, Prof. Galadima has injected a fresh impetus in the management of the nation’s apex policy and strategic institution by introducing new concepts that made research seamless even under the current COVID-19 pandemic. He also did a lot to improve the physical infrastructure of the institution while strengthening the academic experience for all course participants. He will be greatly missed”.
The Governor added that Galadima had contributed immensely to the educational development of Plateau State having studied and taught at the University of Jos for years before his appointment as the DG of NIPSS. Lalong prayed that God will give the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.
