The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the incumbent Governor, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as the winner of the recent Ondo Polls.

Prof Abel Olayinka, INEC Chief Returning Officer for Ondo State announced the results.

Akeredolu of the All Progressive Congress won 15 of the 18 Local Government Areas and amassed 292,830 votes. Eyitayo Jegede, party flagbearer of the People’s Democratic Party who came a close second scored 195,791votes. Jegede won the remaining three within the Ondo Central Senatorial District. Agboola Ajayi, the incumbent Deputy Governor, and governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party scored 69,127. Ajayi did not win any local government.
