President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt condolences to Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, over the passing of his mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi. The President’s message was conveyed through his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement released on Thursday.
Hajiya Maryam Namadi, who died on Wednesday, was laid to rest by Islamic rites in Kafin Hausa, the governor’s hometown. President Tinubu praised her commitment to community service and encouraged her family to continue her philanthropic legacy.
The President urged Governor Namadi and his family to find comfort in the good name and reputation left behind by his mother. This sentiment was echoed by the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, who also extended his condolences to the governor and his family, describing the loss as a “great tragedy”.
Governor Radda also joined in mourning the loss, noting that the demise of a mother leaves an irreplaceable void in one’s life.
