The Larry Omodia Foundation, a civil society organization, has petitioned the Nigeria Police Force to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of popular artist Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad.
The foundation’s executive director, Larry Omodia, emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the ongoing investigation. In a petition filed at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti, Lagos, the foundation specifically named some of Mohbad’s family members, alleging that they may have played a role in his demise.
Omodia argued that these individuals may have conspired in the events leading to Mohbad’s untimely death, which occurred in September 2023.Omodia noted that there is a TikTok conversation between One Adura and a actor as that is a piece of evidence, suggesting it reveals new details about Mohbad’s final moments.
In the conversation Adura’s subsequent claim of his account being hacked has been dismissed by the foundation as an attempt to evade responsibility. The foundation also highlighted a pattern of suspicious behaviour among those close to Mohbad, citing a previous confession by one Boluwatife regarding to the tampering of Mohbad’s corpse. Despite Boluwatife’s Instagram post detailing his actions, he later claimed his account was hacked.
The foundation’s call for a fresh investigation underscores the need for a thorough and impartial probe into Mohbad’s death. By seeking transparency and accountability, the Larry Omodia Foundation aims to ensure that justice is served and that those responsible for Mohbad’s death are held accountable.
