Nigeria and China have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening their economic partnership, focusing on key sectors such as trade, energy, finance, customs, and agriculture.
According to Ambassador Baba Gana Wakil, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Nigeria in China, the partnership aims to promote sustainable growth, enhance capacity building, and create investment opportunities.
The two countries have been engaging in joint initiatives, implementing projects to strengthen human capital and improve economic resilience. A recent 12-day seminar in Beijing, China, brought together representatives from various Nigerian ministries and agencies to explore opportunities for cooperation and share insights on China’s economic development strategies.
The seminar was a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed during the September 2024 Beijing Summit. It featured presentations on topics such as Chinese modernization, Xi Jinping’s economic thought, and the Belt and Road Initiative.
Nigeria and China have a long history of economic cooperation, with China emerging as one of Nigeria’s key development partners. The two countries have collaborated on various projects, including infrastructure development, energy, and agriculture.
The strengthened partnership is expected to unlock significant opportunities for mutual benefits, including enhanced trade, increased investment, and sustainable economic growth for both countries.
