The Adamawa state police command has denied reports circulating online which claimed Bandits and Boko Haram attacked the home town of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation(SGF), Boss Mustapha in Adamawa State.

While reacting to the online report, the Police Spokesperson in the state, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje denied the reported attack on the people of Dabna and Kwabre villages in Dugwaba District of Hong Local Government Area, claiming they had all left their homes and farms as a result of alleged attacks by the dreadful Boko Haram sect. Sulaiman further confirmed to journalists that the police has deployed anti-terrorism and anti-kidnappings squads, as well as undercover agent to counter any form of unrest in the area.

He also said there have been no reports of terrorism or attack from the deployed security operatives in the area.

The police state police spokesperson further assured the villagers of police readiness to immediately respond to any information that borders on insecurity.

Reports Untrue- District Head

Also, when contacted, the District Head of Dugwaba, Mr Simon Yakubu debunked the reported attack, labelling it as ‘Misleading’.

He said the people were living happily and peacefully, going about celebrating Christmas in the mentioned villages.

Simon also claimed the  malicious report was intended to mislead and create confusion in his communities.

“The purported report is from the enemy of peace and progress who doesn’t want to see people living in peace and harmony with one another”. He said.

He however said the reports he gathered from all the villages mentioned in the online report Indicated that the people were peacefully going about their businesses with no form of intimidation.
