Davido ‘s ‘A Better Time’ has achieved a laudable landmark. The album which was released on the 13th of November, 2020 has surpassed 200 million streams across all digital platforms. A breakdown of the streams revealed that 44.8% came from Audiomack as the album peaks at number one with a remarkable 95.5 million streams, beating Wizkid’s recently released, “Made in Lagos”, and closing in on Burna Boy’s grammy-nominated album, “Twice as Tall” released earlier in the year. 

The breakdown of the streams includes 54.7 million on Apple Music, 11.5 million on Spotify, 15.7 million on Boomplay, 38.5 on YouTube. 

Davido took to his Instagram page to celebrate his success and gratitude to his ever teeming supportive fans: 

“Forever grateful!! More to come ! …A BETTER TIME ! #LLTJ”

Fans of Wizkid and Burna have however berated the Davido. One Demilade Johnson noted on Twitter that “it is not by streams o.” Another identified as Feyi said, “Leave streams. How many nominations have you gotten mr oni stream?”

Recalling that Burna Boy’s “Twice as Tall” album was nominated in the category for “Best Global Music Album”. Wizkid also won the category for Best African Act at the MOBO Awards.
