Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo, has urged Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State, and Timothy Owoeye, Speaker of House of Assembly, to pass a law that would impose severe punishment and penalty on anyone involved in land grabbing.

He stressed that the upsurge in land grabbing can no longer be condoned as this should be legislatively addressed so as to protect the heritage and landed assets of the people.

In view of this, the Oba appealed to the Osun state government not to take the matter lightly. He urged government to act fast before the concern becomes blown out of proportion.
