The Lagos States Environmental and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce) has given a 7-day evacuation notice to owners and occupiers of illegal structures, buildings, and shops around Fagba, along with Abbatior new Oko-Oba.

This was contained in a statement entitled, ‘# FAGBA: LASG Serves 7 Days Removal Order To Owners of Illegal Structures/Shanties Around Fagba, Abbatoir, New Oko Oba’.

Olayinka Egbeyemi, a Chief Superintendent of Police and Chairman of the Agency, revealed that over 2, 500 illegal structures were served the ‘Removal Order’ around the area.

Chief Superintendent Egbeyemi said the illegal structures were occupied by hoodlums who caused havoc and razed down both public and private properties around the area during the #EndSARS protests.

According to his statement which reads in part, ‘It was an eye-sore with miscreants and hoodlums freely smoking Indian hemp including under age boys around the area.

‘You will recall that as part of on the spot assessment of extent of destruction of both public and private properties by miscreants and hoodlums during the last protest Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu visited Fagba along Abbatior new Oko-Oba area.’

He disclosed that, the Fagba area, along Abbatoir new Oko-Oba, is no longer secured as residents are subject to risk due to the various kinds of criminal acts being carried out by ‘notorious boys’.

Egbeyemi stressed that, CP Hakeem Odumosu, Lagos State Commissioner of police, has declared that hoodlums found culpable of violating the evacuation warning after the expiration of the seven-day ‘Removal Order’, would be arrested and severely punished.

The chairman, however, reaffirmed the relentless commitment of the agency in ensuring a safe and peaceful environment for citizens within the state.
