Popular Nigerian artiste, Tiwa Savage, has come under fire for recent photos she posted online. The former Mavins signee took to her instagram page to share semi-nude photos of her on Monday 2, 2020. The post has since received mixed reactions.
Some have slammed the Universal Music Group signee for taking and even going as far as sharing such pictures at age fourty, 40. Among the many criticisms is that of Uche Maduagwu notably. The Nollywood actor, who is supposedly known for controversies surrounding homosexuality, suggested that the sultry photos posted by Tiwa Savage were designed to get the attention of Wizkd who recently dropped his fourth studio body of work.
In his own words, Uche opined,
‘Nudity at 40 is repulsive and distasteful, it can also lead to depression. What message are you trying to jam to our kids morally? Or is this #pics meant to get #starboy attention?

Others however insists that there is nothing absolutely wrong with what Tiwa Savage has done. While a few consider it good business for the type of job she does, many in this regard see it as a sort of body positivity. This explains why the picture has since seen over a hundred thousand likes and comments.

Recall that only yesterday, nollywood actress, Monalisa Stephen called out people who are fond of body shaming others especially women. The nollywood actress complained that the issue of humiliating someone or making mockery as well as disparaging comments about their body shape or size has affected people’s mental health. She further stated that ‘A lot have died from being bodyshamed.’
Emphasizing on the need to create awareness regarding this, she opined that,
‘We need to create awareness. So me taking (sic) about it don’t mean I want pity. I don’t need your pity. I want to talk about it to enlighten some people.’
