It was matchday 3 of 6 in the UEFA Champions League yesterday. Teams battled each other at the group stage level. Teams like RB Salzburg, Real Madrid, Man. City, Porto, Atalanta, Midjtylland played host to away teams which include, respectively, Bayern, Inter Milan, Olympiacos Marseille, Liverpool and Ajax.

RB Salzburg opened the scoring with a goal from Mergim Berisha in the fourth minute. They however lost to Bayern with a 6-2 margin.

Real Madrid played host to Inter Milan in a fierce match that saw the Los Blancos clinch the win for the day. Goals from Karim Benzema (25’), Sergio Ramos (33’) and Rodrygo (80) helped sealed the victory.

Olympiacos, on the other hand, lost to Man. City in a 3-0 victory that saw Guardiola’s team at the top of the table. With victory over Olympiacos, Man. City has now gone three straight wins.

Early goal from Moussa Marega in the fourth minute gave Porto the lead over Marseille. Subsequent goals from Sergio (28) and Luis (69) helped sealed the 3-0 victory against French team, Marseille.

Champions League holders, Liverpool, humbled Atalanta in a 5-0 win that saw the men in red take home three points. A hat trick from Diogo Jota as well as goals from Mohammed Sallah and Sadio Mane was all Klopp’s team needed.

Ajax, also, defeated Midjtylland in a 2-1 win with early goal from Antony (1) and Dusan Tadic (13).
