Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the Governor of Ekiti State, has extended, indefinitely, the curfew imposed in the state.

The curfew was declared on Tuesday evening after series of violence in the state capital. It was clear that hoodlums had hijacked the #EndSARS protest and seized the opportunity to perpetuate series of lawless crimes.

A catastrophic event during the protest featured trucks being set ablaze in Ado-Ekiti. There was also the case of an alleged gang rape of three ladies in Fajuyi area of Ado-Ekiti.

Also, a police station in Ikere was burned down together with four patrol vehicles.

The restriction was to commence 10p.m on Tuesday and expected to lapse at 10p.m on Wednesday.

Residents resumed activities on Thursday.

However, Fayemi announced on Thursday that the curfew would be extended in every part of the state until further notice.
