Governor Babajide Sanwoolu has blamed ‘forces beyond our direct control’ for the shooting of peaceful and unarmed protest at Lekki toll plaza this morning. He said this at the hospital where he visited the injured #ENDSARS protesters.

According to a live broadcast made available through DJ Switch. The video showed the presence of the security operatives who shot at protesters. There are various reports on deceased cases. Meanwhile, the Governor stated that there were no fatalities in Lagos. This is contrary to reports on social media.

‘There are currently 10 patients at the General Hospital, 11 at Reddington and 4 at Vedic; with mild to moderate levels of injuries while 2 are receiving intensive medical care. 3 patients have been discharged & we will continue to monitor and ensure all patients get the best care.’

Amnesty International Nigeria has blamed the Nigerian authorities for the killings of the protesters. The organisation said that there was no justification for such killings.
