The Global Powers Record High Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced two deaths and 126 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country. The report shows that more than 502, 545 samples have been tested by the agency since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country in February. The NCDC also said that the 126 new cases were recorded in 12 states, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 58,324.

According to worldometer.info, the number of death from coronavirus globally hit a million threshold with about 1,000,502 deaths recorded on Sunday evening. While the total coronavirus infections globally have also crossed 33 million with the 33,192,997 cases reported as of Sunday
evening. United States records over 209,000 deaths, which has lost more people to COVID-19 than any other country and the next most impacted country is India with about 95,000 death.

The virus appears to be spreading much faster in India than any other country. The Asian country recording more than 80,000 daily infections in the past week. Meanwhile, New Zealand is battling a new wave of COVID19. Meanwhile, Brazil still grapples with 6 million Infections.

However, health experts say there are likely far more cases out there that have not been confirmed. On Saturday morning, the World Health Organisation (WHO) warned that the global coronavirus death toll could hit two million before an effective vaccine is widely used.
